Food Handler

Food handler and people that work in the food handling industry are required throughout Canada to be certified through provincially regulated courses. These courses vary in length and cost depending on your location and required course. Most provinces only have one level of required basic training while other provinces have additional level’s of certification that may be required depending on your position in the food service industry. We offer food handler and food safety courses through our training providers throughout Canada. To register for a course in your region select the type of certification you are required to have based on your location.

Certification For Each Province:

  • Food Handler Certification – Required in Manitoba and Saskatchewan
  • FoodSafe Level 1 – Offered in British Columbia and majority of Canadian Provinces.
  • FoodSafe Level 2 – Offered in British Columbia and majority of Canadian Provinces.
  • Food Safety – Offered in Ontario
  • AHS Food Safety – Offered in Alberta

Registration:

To register for a course select your certification type from the main or side menu and you will be directed to another page. Select your location from that page and then select the date, time and more specific location. Complete the food handler registration form and pre-pay to guarantee yourself a spot in the course. Space is limited at most locations so candidates may be required to register early to ensure a spot in the course.

Food Handler Course Cost:

The cost of food handler and food safety certification cost varies depending on location and level of course. Courses vary in price from 55 to 125 dollars. Our training providers offer the lowest prices in your region.

Course Length:

The length of this course varies depending on the level of food handling and food safety certification required. The basic food handling and food safety courses are approximately 8 hours in length. They are usually completed within one day but candidates may have the opportunity to complete the course within two days.

Certification:

Candidates that successfully complete the course will receive certification that meets provincial and legislative standards. Candidates will also be placed into provincial registries wherever applicable. Certification awards will be issued immediately upon completion of the course. Certificates come in either wallet sized certificates or wall mounts. Certification does not expire, however, candidates may be requested to re-take the course based on health regulation requests.

Our training partners are located throughout Canada in convenient and comfortable locations. We have training partners with training centres located in Vancouver, Victoria, Kelowna, Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon, Regina, Winnipeg, Ottawa, and Thunder Bay.
